He looked at the blaze in horror when he realised it was his own home. He saw the smoke rising into the sky when he was at Lord Slayton’s manor but had dismissed it as the smithy’s forge working hard on a new piece of armour for Slayton. Will had returned to his home to find that it was ablaze. Probably get off with a pardon.’ He patted the man’s shoulder as a sign of sincerity and the fear in his eyes subsided.Īnd Edorix thanks for the feedback, I did want it to seem sincere when he said his life would be spared so put that bit with the hand on the shoulder, guess it was a little too subtle, but I didn't want to go into the whole manor court process because I dunno how it worked Will lead the man past him and said, ‘Don’t worry he won’t hang you. ‘Oh dear, that’s a hanging offence lad.’ Nick said with a wry smile. Caught this one poaching deer in Slayton’s forest.’ ‘Hey Will.’ One of the guards said as the archer approached. It was the largest building in the small town and was patrolled by Lord Slayton’s Men-at-Arms who greeted the archer as he arrived with his prisoner. The man held out his hands, which the archer bound with a spare bow chord, and he gathered the man’s belongings before leading him towards Lord Slayton’s manor. #MEN AT WAR ASSAULT SQUAD 2 HOW TO QUICKLY RANK UP TRIAL#‘I’ll have to bring you back to Lord Slayton and you’ll stand trial in the manor court.’ The forester said as he advanced. ‘Please, don’t shoot!’ The man shouted back and dropped his belongings into the sodden ground. ‘Stop!’ He yelled and as the poacher turned he saw the terror in the man’s eyes. The silent chase continued until the rain stopped and both men were in the open ground, they were within twenty-five paces now and the archer strung his bow, nocked an arrow and drew the bowstring to his ear. His bow wasn’t even strung, the rain would weaken the chord, which was under the archer’s hat and covered by an aventail. ![]() He was able to see the poacher with the deerskin slung over his shoulder and the meat was surely in the bag at his side, and despite being within range, the forester refrained from shooting. The young man was a forester in the pay Lord Slayton to protect his lands from poachers and after finding two deer carcasses in the woods with the skins removed and a large portion of the meat sliced from the bones he was sure he had found yet more of them. He was hunting his quarry through the woods of Lord Slayton. The rain was beating heavily on the large English longbow man. It's about an English archer(Longbow man to be exact) and is based on my Stainless Steel England Capaign so around the 1200's. This is a little piece I've been putting together for a few days, next few chapters are coming up but for now the prologue is all I have for you, I'm fine tuning the rest atm.
